Blain, Robyn, & Gavin

Mom and I met up with this sweet little family over the weekend. We just THOUGHT we had planned an early enough session to beat the 100* temperatures! We should've started closer to 6 a.m. than 9 a.m.! LOL

Aren't they just so stinkin' gorgeous?! Little Gavin was having nothing to do with me or my camera when we first got started...but, as time went on, we started playing peek-a-boo and hide and seek with him and that brought out some cute smirks, grins, and giggles.

Gavin is having his third birthday soon and is quite a handsome fella! He warmed up to us towards the end and wasn't ready to leave when it was time...little stinker! He loved playing with the rocks and water.

I adore this next shot. This is one I didn't plan on editing this way when taking it, but as I was working on their images, it just came to me. I think it is such an awesome image and shows such a beautiful bond between this little guy and his parents.

During this session, I felt as if I had known this family for a long time! They are just so sweet and soft-spoken...and totally the type of people my family and I could hang out with any given day.

I can totally see this next shot hanging ginormous over their sofa in the living room, can't you? (Robyn, you are just stunning. You and coral...it just works, girl! LOL)

At the end of the session, Gavin wanted to get his dirt bike out of the back of dad's truck and take some pictures on it. He was soooo excited about it! He had to show us where the exhaust was. And the gas. And the tires. And his helmet....and every other part of it. It was so cute! I have way too many shots of him that turned out so cute on and around his dirt bike, but I will share one of my faves to end this post.

Blain, Robyn, and Gavin: it was truly a pleasure! Can't wait for you to see your gallery...

Piper {6 days new}

Welcome to the world sweet Piper Quinn.

You may remember her family from a recent maternity session. Now, she finally arrived and they are a family of 7! Seven sweet people inside and out.

Little Piper (love the name!) was so active and alert during her session! I bet she slept like a rock for her momma that night...

We managed to still get some precious sleepy shots of her...

This next shot is just for her daddy...

We barely got that last shot, but I am soooo glad we did!

This next shot is special to me because my granny helped me make this canopy. (Well, she did 90% of it!) I just showed her what I wanted and she went to work. We had so much fun making it.

As I finish this post, I am almost in tears...I love my job! I love that I get to capture the most precious, innocent, tiny beings on earth. I love that I get to capture family memories and birthdays. I am so grateful and thankful to have followed my heart and pursued my dream of photography.

Special thanks to my sweet, supportive husband and my dear mother who has yet to miss one session to help me out...even without being asked! She just expects to go or be there. Whether it be just to carry bags or props...but much of the time helping with lighting and getting little ones to laugh or just look my direction. Thank you!!!

Until next posting. Sleep tight sweet girl...

Case {5 days new}

Case Allen...so sleepy and precious...

He was 8 lbs 15 oz. at birth and still just seemed like such a tiny thing!

His mom said the same lady that made the quilt in the previous photo had also made some quilts for other members of Case's family in the past, including his grandpa. How sweet! What a treasure...

Case rocked his photo session. Period. Dad and mom said he was up most of the night before his session. That's probably why he slept and never hardly made a peep for me! He knew he was getting  pictures taken...

Sometimes people ask if they should wait to get pictures taken when their baby's belly button heals following birth. The answer is a resounding NO! That is what newborn pictures are all about...remembering their newness...their wrinkles...their red tinted skin and imperfect nails.

I think Case looks an awful lot like his daddy...but after editing these photos, I can definitely see how he favors his mom too. He is just darling.

I saved a couple of my favorites for last. Dad and mom are really into the country/western theme and brought along some fun props to use! I love it when people bring things that mean something to them. It makes the session so much more personal.

I absolutely cannot wait for you all to see the rest!

Thank you so very much for sharing little Case with us. It was truly a pleasure and he is just perfect.
